Drinking games

A few firm-favourites of the Mexican Seoul crew. Remember to drink responsibly!

Choose a player to be the first dealer. You can decide by having everyone draw a card—the player with the lowest card becomes the dealer. (Aces are low.) Then shuffle the deck and place it face down in the centre of the table.

The dealer starts by drawing the top card of the deck, keeping it hidden

The player to their left guesses the value of the card (e.g., 7, Queen, etc.)

If the guess is wrong:

  • The dealer hints whether the actual card is higher or lower.
  • The player gets a second guess.

If the player guesses incorrectly twice, they drink the difference between their second guess and the card’s value.
(Example: If they guessed 5 and the card is 9, they drink 4 sips.)

If the player guesses correctly on their:

  • First guess: The dealer drinks 4 sips.
  • Second guess: The dealer drinks 2 sips.

The dealer has 3 chances to try to win on 3 players, before the role gets passed clockwise onto the next player

To play, someone will whisper a question to another player concerning the group (i.e. “who’s most likely to …?).

The player will answer out loud and set a price for the others to hear the question that accompanies the answer.

The payment will be how many shots players will have to take to find out.

In order to play you must have a shot glass for each person playing, 1 will contain alcohol, and the rest will be water.

You must all take the shot and convince everyone you had a shot of water.

Whoever is voted as the person who drank the alcoholic shot has to take another shot as the loser.

  • Carefully place all the spoons in the centre of the table or circle (Note: there should be one spoon less than the number of players).
  • Take the deck of cards and leave a set of four matching cards for each player in the deck.
  • One of the players will have to act as the caller or dealer in each round. They will be responsible for saying ‘pass’ aloud, indicating when each player must pass a card to the player next to them (by default, to the left, unless ‘pass to the right’ is said).
  • Each player passes one card in each round until they have four cards of the same type.
  • Remember to place the cards face down when passing a card to the next player.
  • As the aim of the game is to grab a spoon from the centre of the circle, you can grab a spoon when you have four cards of the same type or when you see another player grab a spoon.
  • The player who is left without a spoon is the loser and must drink!
